CHANGE

Eco-evolutionary responses to CHANGing Environments across space, time and biological levels

The general scientific objective of CHANGE is to improve knowledge of the eco-evolutionary processes that shape inter- and intra-specific variability in changing environments. We especially aim at describing how the intertwined nature of selection, plasticity and dispersal influences trait assemblages at the phenome level as well as whole genomic patterns when environments are spatially and temporally variable. We put special emphasis on understanding the relationships between phenotypic and genotypic spaces. We finally try to link the described phenotypic and molecular variability to population, community and ecosystem dynamics and evolution function. To reach these ambitious scientific objectives, the team uses various approaches, including long-term field surveys, experiments in semi- and fully-controlled conditions and theoretical approaches. Our team uses phylogenetically diverse organisms, e.g. vertebrates, microorganisms, plants, and arthropods, and also interspecific interactions (plant-insects, closely related vertebrate or protist species).
