The Phenotyping Platform is a recently established and ongoing development platform. Its objective is to centralize the equipment, knowledge, and phenotyping techniques (physiological, morphological, and behavioral) used at SETE and make them available to the various teams.
A permanent engineer provides user support during experiments and manages this equipment.
The Phenotyping Platform has privileged access to the central animal facilities and the SETE laboratories' technical platforms to develop its activities.
Currently, the Phenotyping Platform is equipped to perform various protocols:
1) Metabolic respirometry protocols for small vertebrates, invertebrates, and aquatic microorganisms
FoxBox system (Sable System) for continuous flow respirometry measurements
- OXY-4-SMA trace system (PreSens) for constant volume respirometry measurements
- SensorDish® Reader system (PreSens) for constant volume respirometry measurements of small organisms on 24-well plates
- Fire-Sting O2 system (PyroScience) for constant volume spirometry measurements in aquatic vertebrates
2) Thermal preference protocols for aquatic and terrestrial vertebrates
Thermal/UV gradient arenas for aquatic and terrestrial vertebrates
- Smart wireless temperature microsensors
- Automated video analysis system
3) Behavioral protocols
Climate-controlled arenas
- Dispersion arenas
- Automated video analysis system
- Acclimatization chambers
